Positive Behavior Support Plan

An exciting plan is in place at Ashville Elementary – the Positive Behavior Support (PBS) Plan. It will transform our building into a positive, well-mannered, polite, atmosphere where academics will flourish. Last year the PBS team studied and developed the plan for our building and this year that plan is being implemented. Some of the features of the plan include that all teachers are using the same behavior monitoring system, tickets are given out when students display expected behaviors and the tickets can then be “cashed in” at the Viking Store that is being stocked and manned by our PTO. All behavior expectations are clearly displayed in the hallways, cafeteria, restrooms and playground areas. We are following principles of The Essential 55 by Ron Clark, so we would encourage parents to read this book to become familiar with those principles. There are brochures available in the office that explain in more detail our Positive Behavior Plan.
