The purpose of the Teays Valley High School guidance program is to provide experiences to ensure that every student progresses toward fulfillment of his/her educational, personal and career goals.

Dear Parents:

The Teays Valley High School Guidance Department is committed to serving the needs of all of our students. We have two full-time counselors and one full-time secretary, Mrs. Missy Perdue, in the building to talk to you or your child at any time. Mrs. Julie Samlow is responsible this year for students in the tenth and twelfth grades. Mr. Tom Heil handles the ninth and eleventh grades as well as monitoring the progress of our career and technical center and satellite location students.

Students are welcome to come to the guidance office to discuss any concerns they have with scheduling classes, testing results, career interests, college selection and application, college scholarships or personal problems. We also look forward to hearing from parents with any questions or concerns you might have.

Please encourage your students to take advantage of the resources available to them in the guidance office. We welcome the opportunity to serve them and to serve you.
