As the guidance department, we look forward to working with your student this school year! Please know that we will make every effort to see to that your student receives as much personal assistance as possible.
Middle school is an exciting and challenging time for both students and parents. We want the middle school years to be rewarding and profitable. Every student needs support, guidance and opportunities. Our goal is to assist parents, teachers and staff members to help ensure student success, both academically and personally.
Enrollment:
The guidance department will start registering new students for the 2010-2011 school year on August 6th. Please contact East Middle School (740.983.4074) starting on August 3rd to set up an appointment for registration. Please allow one hour to register your student. The following documents are needed to enroll your student:
Birth Certificate
Parent ID
Immunization Records
Copy of Custody Papers (if parents are divorced or legally separated)
Proof of Residency (Utility bill, Rental agreement, Mortgage coupon, Tax bill)
I.E.P./E.T.R.(if applicable)

When should you as parents make a referral?
Student is not performing academically on grade level
Family or student is dealing with a personal crisis or trauma in the home
Student displays a sudden change in behavior that lasts more than 2 weeks at home or at school
Anytime you think your student would benefit from another person talking with them
Please do not hesitate to call the guidance department with any
concerns/questions you may have regarding your student.
