Welcome to Teays Valley East Middle School! When first arriving at Teays Valley Middle School nine years ago, I never would have imagined participating in such a historic event as the dedication and opening of two new middle schools. Great pride has always been apparent in the Teays Valley Schools through outstanding parent and community participation. This has continued to flourish with the accolades our students and staff have received. In 2009, Teays Valley Middle School met 10 out of 10 indicators and was designated an “Excellent” school by the Ohio Department of Education. Teays Valley Middle School was also recognized as an Ohio Middle School and National School to Watch.
Our middle school staff is very excited to see what new opportunities will lay ahead with new facilities to support our students and the community. With the construction of two new middle schools, the possibility to enhance the middle school experience is endless. At East Middle School we will continue to work in teams and focus on the well rounded student – academically, socially and developmentally. Students will have opportunities to participate in Band, Choir, Physical Education, Health, Computer and Art. Students will receive daily intervention during homeroom time. Students will continue to have opportunities to participate in multiple extracurricular activities. Together, with the collaboration of staff, students, families and the community, we will continue to strive for excellence!
This is an extremely exciting time for the district, staff, students and community members of Teays Valley. The community dedication and commitment to our students' success is more apparent than ever. We look forward to working with you and opening Teays Valley East Middle School for the 2009-2010 school year!
