Teays Valley East Middle School 6th grade teacher Emily Dawson - "Emily has done an outstanding job connecting with both students and staff. Her lessons are always engaging and fun. She is purposeful to ensure she checks in with her students on a regular basis. Emily recently planned an educational field trip for all 6th grade students. Despite several challenges in planning the trip, she persisted to make sure her students would have this amazing learning experience. Emily is truly committed to doing what is best for her students!"


Teays Valley West Middle School physical education & health teacher Marie Galloway - "Marie has proven to be a tremendous asset here at West since my arrival. She has provided me much needed insight as to how things have operated around here, taken on classes when short staffed and has helped create special schedules when needed. She has also agreed to be a part of our master schedule team as we look to improve it. I appreciate Marie's willingness to jump in whenever needed and making positive connections throughout our building."

This has been recognized by not only the administrative team, but her peers have been singing her praises as well. Mrs. Beachy intentionally connects with not only students on a daily basis, but also colleagues and the families she serves. She goes above and beyond as an intervention specialist and works to meet the unique learning needs of each individual student. Congratulations to Teays Valley High School seniors Aaron Burch and Alexis Cupp who are being recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) as Commended Students in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program! About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2024 competition by taking the 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) last October.
